Default it is over pretty quickly>>>>

as they get boring pretty quickly and if you do not calibrate them, they are very misleading.....this is a much better tool IMO in the link below....

Measures HP and lots of other things that OEM gauges do not do. If you ever get a CEL, it can be cleared from this device too....

http://public.fotki.com/ttschwing/gadgetts_and_stuff/scangauge-ii/</a

Default Re: it is over pretty quickly>>>>

I can see how they could get old quickly. The thing I do like is I can go from car to car and with every little mod I do I can check the difference.

Default i could see where you would do that>>>

but like it said...there are a lot of factors that go into that device and accuracy is always in question. I was given one for my birthday a few years back and it spent about 2 days in my car. It is now in the box and has not been used since then...

The scangauge can move from car to car..for all of its diags and data tracking. The only catch is that it does not work on CAN-BUS cars...IIRC.....so my suggestion may be moot.....cannot hurt to ask tho!

Default What is the least expensive device to purchase if all I want is to read CEL's

and then clear them? All I want is something basic.

Default I bought a g-timer

I took it to the track in my mk1 and 1/4 miled with
it going, it was a lil less then .1 second off the track time.
I like it for sure, but u always gotta make sure your on a pretty flat road or dont bother.
