Default Supposedly the rubber surround on the filter impedes air flow. Good luck on the install, it's a pain

Re-package and return. They are not good for our cars.

Default Just lubricate it with some Motul blinker fluid.

Snaps right in.

Default Getting it back on was the easy part; off was the pain!

I lubed it when I replaced so hopefully it comes off easier next time.

Default RESPONSE FROM K&N (MANUFACTURE) Plant: -->

Hi

The greater resistance to air flow is at the mouth of the intake. The K&N will (if the engine demands) deliver 40% more air to the engine. The rubber around the edge of our filter will do little to interrupt air flow. When we develop a new filter we purchase the OE air box and carry out air flow tests using the appropriate K&N. We would not go ahead with the launch of a new element if any adverse readings were registered. Hope this helps.

Regards

Default My 2 cts. I had K&N on my Mk I. Didn't everybody? With chip, cat, diverter, filter - car was

super fast. Why all the negativity about K&N? Can anyone back it up with experience??
