Default mechatronic recall - results

I just had the recall done on my wifes 08 TT (3.2), where they replaced the Mechatronic unit on the transmission. The difference is incredible. I have been complaining to the dealership for 8 months that the transmission shifting was very jerky, including starting from a stop. They had said it was "normal". After replacement of the Mechatronic unit, it is a different car:

- accelerating from a stop no longer has the "slip, slip, slip....BANG/ENGAGE" phenomenon. It moves from a stop like a normal car with no jerking.

- Downshifting from 5,4,3,2,1 is now very smooth and does not "bang" into gear each time.

- When in Sport mode, the downshifting with rev feature is also very different and much smoother.

Overall, a very good change.

Mike: I too have an 08 3.2 that is due for the Mechatronic recall. I plan to get it done at the next service interval. Did they re-flash the transmission display on your car? Can you still see which gear the transmission is in when in "drive". It seems that some folks lost that part of the display when Audi serviced their DSG.

It seems there are two separate issues with the DSG:

Mechatronic replacement.
Temperature sensor replacement.

I was also concerned about the display. I can still see which gear the transmission is in when in drive. No change in the display. I looked at the work order and did not see any temperature sensor replacement.

As follow-up, my wife says it drives like a totally new car. For her to notice any changes, it must be significant....

Default Looks like 2010 A3 meets Mechatronic Recall

My 2010 A3 Quattro 2.0T and its currently at the Dealer for the very same issue cited by a prior member about a few posts ago 'Jerky gear shift from a dead stop'.

And they informed me today that they are replacing the Mechatronix unit.
