I was attempting to install a rns-e software update and when I open the display and press the eject button as stated in the manual nothing happens, is there some security setting that needs to be disabled so that I can eject the navigation dvd.

When the dealer prep occurred, they should have disabled the disc lock. Sounds like they didn't. If you have VAGCOM, you can change it on your own, otherwise it's a trip to the dealer.

anyone buy the the new 2009 DVD?
Has anything changed? Or is it just a update of the map. I remember being on the 210 fwy going west from Riverside and there was no road on the navigation. I was driving over water.

Go to the NAVTEQ website and see if your area was updated in the last year. The DC area hasn't been updated in a couple of years so my 2005 map is identical to the 2009 in the areas that I drive in....
