Default Get the Solstice and keep A4.

I really like the look of the new TT but it will be a while before I am back in one. I had a 2001 TT (225hp) and an 98 A4 for a while, then sold the TT and got a Lexus SUV for wife. Then sold her old Del Sol so we were down to 2 cars again... Then got a Mini Cooper S and sold the A4. A few months back I got a used 2004 Honda S2000 so we are back to 3 cars again. The Mini is fun but the car of choice is the S2000. I just love it from 6-8k rpm when the vtec kicks in and there is a bump in HP. It almost feels like a turbo spooling up. I really have a car buying problem!

I really like the look of the Solstice and seems like a great price and could keep 2 cars. Just remember, You will have 2 depreciating cars instead of one. Not to mention 2 insurance payments, registration, taxes.

Default MKI is really practical...

...as long as you never have to carry more than two people. But if it's only two, I've taken it camping with no problems, thrown my bike in the back, etc. And it's definitely comfortable and civilized enough that it won't drive you crazy.

Default Thanks for all the info y'all!

Really appreciate everyone's opinions on this. Actually went and drove a MK1 the other day for a refresher on how it really is, and was really impressed. From what the dealer said, and what I've seen on-line, MK2 will be bigger and, dare I say, roomier in almost every dimension. So I think I will be happy with one. Now just have to play the waiting game like everyone else is. I'm thinking Deep Sea Blue......

Default My 02 TT 225 CQ has been much more practical than I ever thought>>>

Its amazing how much you can get in there with the back seats down- I once had 4 17x7.5 rims with mounted tires in there w/o any problems.

The only downside is that the back seats are not for people ... I have had an occasional person 'sardined' in there for short trips. It does work as excellent storage though for day to day usage.

I'd say got for the MK2 unless you really got to have the rear seats and doors.
