Has anyone tried this:
http://www.namotorsports.net/detail.cfm/part_cd/NS65.02.66
Looks like an easy installation. Just wondering if the change in airflow will "confuse" the computer and actually make it run worse.
Also, if more air flow will make the engine run better, why doesn't Audi use something like this in the stock form?
Thanks!

As to the question of why they don't use it?
Think noise/vibration/harshness. Any open element intake is LOUD. Intake noise, turbo spool and diverter valve release all become quite loud. The gains are real, but marginal.(maybe 10hp/10tq on a chipped car which increases the gains over what a stock car might see).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KR7dibG45IM&feature=related</a

The video is of a 2.0t which is why the turbo spool etc is so loud.
A 3.2 will also suffer from a smilar, but smaller, noise increase.
In general on a normally aspirated car an intake will net you some upper RPM power at the cost of low rpm torque. That's just a rule of thumb and not necessarily a given for this particular engine. You might want to take a look on vwvortex for dynos.
