Unfortunately I have yet been able to find a spare such as that in one of the other posts on this forum. I currently have a can of the Fix-a-Flat and need to still go buy a compressor.

The rim is easy- 18" spare rim for MK5 golf GTI, same 5 x 112 bolt pattern & center spigot. Buy on line or order from any VW dealer. The T115/85R18 tire, or 'tyre', takes a lot more effort. You'll need to find a late model Jaguar in a wrecking yard or watch Ebay for a few weeks. Depending on your scrounging abilities, cost could range anywhere from $150 to $450 by time you're done. Note: avoid temptation to use T125/70R18 spare tire from GTI. It's much easier to find, but rolling circumference is too far off.

well, to do a group buy we'd have the issue of getting a batch of them to the US, and further distribution after that. Anyone have those kinds of connections?

I sent a note to Pirelli asking if I could get one of these tires in the US and they stated the following:

"We thank you for your recent inquiry. Unfortunately, Pirelli does not import the temporary spare tires into the US.

Pirelli Tire North America
Consumer Affairs"

so , looks like we are on our own to get some here if we want them

I'll be due for new rubber soon. I run summer tires and have no use for all-seasons, and have been supremely happy with the Goodyear GS-D3 on two cars for almost eight years, but alas this Eagle is no longer available.

While the Contis have a broad AS following, the summer Contis came stock on my TTS and I never liked them. The highest rankings out there have gone to Mich PS2, but I noticed a new offering, the Pilot Super Sport, that intrigues me somewhat.

Anybody have any experience with this latest Pilot?

Default Pilot SS A/S

Just installed the Pilot AS Plus on my 08 Coupe--initial reaction is great.
