Newbie needs lease help (kinda long)
Hello all. I'm an apologetically long time lurker. I recently turned in my leased 2003 A4 3.0 quattro. I've had my eye on the MK2 3.2 for a very long time now. In February I put a deposit down for an early delivery TT with a MSRP of $51,460. The salesman called me today and informed me that the car was loaded on a truck at the port on Monday and should arrive on Wednesday or Thursday. Now for my dilemma. I need to lease again due to my business and need some advice/input on negotiations. I live in Illinois which is one of the worst states to lease in due to having to pay tax on the entire cost of the car regardless of usage. I'm a repeat customer and assumed a little help on the MSRP to make the payments manageable. With NO money down and 3yr/45K I'm being told $955 a month! I laughed at first because I thought he was joking but he was dead serious. He basically said MSRP was the price. Now don't get me wrong, I know with this car being brand new paying MSRP is not to be unexpected. However with that monthly it mentally doesn't make sense knowing I can get so much more car with another make i.e. BMW. The downside is I really long for the TT. I've read posts in this forum stating people getting a discount off MSRP. Is it worth my time to press for a better rate? Approach another dealer? Or should I give up for now on the TT? After driving the A4 (first Audi) I'm hooked on the Audi brand. I like the fact the TT is sporty yet can be a daily driver. I really don't even have another car in mind at this time and I'm currently driving a rental. Any input from you leasers out there would be greatly appreciated. Again, I apologize for posting only when I need something. I hope from now on I can add to this forum since I have driven both the 2.0 and 3.2 and hopefully will own one.
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance

what money factor and residual are they quoting you? Here is what AFS was offering...

They're actually not padding the rate of 5.4% (.00225) and giving the standard 54% residual. Using a lease calculator and incorporating $3500 in taxes I'm coming up with $941. I'm sure that there were some costs that he didn't elaborate over the phone. You're right about the Audicare and 1% increase in residual.
