well here's the scoop....on at least the '08 and '09 models, the hoodliner is offered as an option only on the 2.0 engine, not even offered as option on the 3.2. I didn't ask about the '10 year, assumed the same. The parts guy I worked with said he was pretty sure it was offered with one of the option packages.
Probably that 2.0 is a little noisier (yep) and they make you pay for quiet. But the 3.2 puurrs....so no need...

i3adSaab..... thanks for the info, was thinking I needed to take a trip to the Dealers. Good to know it's just a noise thing and as u said the 3.2 does have a nice sound and would not want to muffle it.

I too am surprised that the 2010 TTS did not have. Hoodliner in it . As I recall my 2001 had one I wonder why they did not install one on the later models

Yup, no liner for my '09 TTS.
I can't say I miss it. I certainly don't think I need any more insulation up front. Never met a car yet that couldn't stand to shed a few pounds; not that I should talk, I s'pose...

Oh, BTW, I double checked mine when checking the oil this week, being the most recent TTS delivery 'round these parts I think, and nope, no liner! Maybe the bigger turbo or other parts in the TTS engine bay preclude use of the TT part, and/or they want increased engine sound in the S anyway...
