Default Question about tires and leasing...

My lease is due at the end of the year. My tires will not pass state inspection which needs to be done right now... does Audi penalize you for turning the car in with different tires? Or do I have to buy the original tires that came on it?

Default No. Get whatever you want for tires and make sure when you turn it in there is enough tread left.

Thats all.

Default May depend on the dealer?

A business associate of mine had to replace OE tires on his leased A4 when he turned it in. I don't know if this was a local interpretation, or an across-the-board standard. If you're looking for a set of original Pirelli P6s for a Mk1, by the way, I have them. Only about 13k miles on them.

Default Thanks, but this is for 20's on my Q7...

I'm hearing mixed answers whether or not dealers care about OEM approved tires upon turn-in.

Default No idea, my guess...simply is return with a bit more tire then the wear bars....

dont see how anything can be said otherwise....

One thing I can tell you is dont worry about the tire brand. Audis come with Conti's Michelins' Dunlops' Pirellis', Goodyear, just about every tire our there....only thing I have NOT see is Yokos or Kuhmos etc

Default According to the Audi website, all 5 tires need to match and fall within OEM specs....

however my dealer said that they have never had anyone fail inspection for having a non matching spare tire.

Also, they do not use OEM tires when they need to put tires on cars to CPO them.

It SHOULDN'T matter, but I would check with the dealer you are turning the Q7 in with and ask them.
