Radio turning off on its own?
I have a 2009 3.2L TT without MMI, and have a really weird issue with it. I have already taken it to the dealership once (and am sending it to them again) because my radio shuts itself off.
Anytime I drive to my parents house (~2 hours away), the radio will shut itself off twice, pretty much every hour. This has now happened on 4 separate trips (i.e. 8 2 hour trips, so turned off 16 times). It has happened both with the FM radio as well as when I had my ipod plugged in through the AUX port.
When you normally turn the radio off, the display stays active and their is a mute icon on the display. However, with this glitch, the radio and display completely shut off, and I have to press the power button three times before I get sound again. The first press does nothing, the second press powers the display back on in the muted setting, and the third returns sound.
Has anyone else had this weird glitch and know of a solution? The dealership told me they haven't been able to reproduce the problem.

looks like the dealership found a possible solution related to the ignition switch (weird...). They replaced it and indicated that the issue should be resolved. I guess i'll find out on the next 2 hour drive.
hope this helps anyone else who runs across this issue.
