realizing sound preferences are subjective, question for other TT Bose stereo users
i was pretty underwhelmed by my TTS "premium" Bose stereo system (why can't Audi partner with Harman Kardon, which I believe is a German company, instead?), but i found that turn up the Bass and, in particular, the Treble really improved the sound quality. The Treble increase brought a much greater level of sound detail that was missing on the middle setting.
some years ago I had heard somewhere that it was best not to change the Treble & Bass settings from the middle, so glad to have stumbled upon this.

Bang & Olufsen premium sound system
In Canada, I can purchase a 2009 A4 3.2 loaded for just over $58,000 and the Bang & Olufsen premium sound system is standard.
My 2008 3.2 TT loaded cost me $71,000 and I had to pay extra for Bose premium sound.
Makes absolutely no sense to me.

Tip: Turn off AudioPilot (enabled when "Auto" is selected under "MENU" options).
I did a lot of testing and in the end got better balanced sound with plain GALA. AudioPilot masked too many frequencies for me.
Also, instead of just boosting the bass and treble, you may want to try cutting back on the mids in your equalizer too.
