Default Salesman says oil pumps go out regularly.

I called about a 2011 TT that had a rebuild on its carfax. I was just curious and the sales guy said that if you buy an audi TT, get one that already was rebuilt because the oil pumps always go out on them. It sounded fishy. Was this a sleazy salesman or is there truth to this?
I just started looking at TTs so I'm a noob still.

Welcome aboard, J!

That's not a common issue.

First time I've ever heard of that "common Problem".

I've had two MKII TT cars with a total of 60k miles between them. All I've done on them is routine maintenance, oil and tires. On my MKI TT I had 180k miles and changed out the steering rack, tie rods and the maintenance stuff. Been pretty good cars for me.
