Since no one knows the actual price, does anyone know how the price is set/released for TT-S?

What is Audi's normal procedure for setting and releasing prices?

seriously though, I'm sure they do market research on the competition as well as potential target market to determine what price is. I'm sure they take into account manufacturing costs and how much profit they want to make. Take into account currency exchanges to further complicate things.
As far as when to release pricing, I'm sure it's big wig and marketing decision. Usually I would think it would coincide with announcing the models at one of the auto shows, but not sure why they have been so late to announce the pricing.

The S5 (354 HP V8) is about $50,000 in the US. The TT-S will have to be below that price to be competitive within the Audi model range.
Just for reference, here is the price for a base model TT quattro in Germany:
Euro 43,100 for a 3.2 Coupe S-tronic
Euro 47,050 for a TTS Coupe S-tronic
The price difference between them is not that large, so I assume it will be similar in the US.
And here is the US pricing:
US$ 42,900 for a 3.2 Coupe S-tronic
I assume the TT-S Coupe will start at around US$ 47,000 for a "base" model.
My 2 cents ...
