Stuck gas cap lid--already searched.
New member here. I have a 2008 Audi TT 3.2 and I love the thing but it is a headache. Like the title said my gas cap doesn't open, a few things that may be helpful; my gas cap has always been extremely difficult to close, I would usually have to really push it hard to close. I tried using the emergency release lever but that didn't work, I could also hear the solenoid/motor working so that is probably not the problem. I tried putting a thin metal clip under the gas cap while someone pressed the gas release button/emergency gas release lever in hopes of forcing the thing open, but again no luck! I also tried locking and unlocking the car hoping that would reset something but still nothing.
Im desperate at this point. Thanks in advance to everyone.

No feedback yet...has anyone atleast tried to pry open the lid? Will it cause any permanent damage to anything? Is there any tricks or tips anyone has that may be helpful?

I have a 2012 base TT.
The manual says.." Open rear lid.
Open round cover in the right side interior trim.
Remove plastic **** from its retainer.
Pull the plastic cord in the direction of the arrow to unlock the fuel filler flap.
