Trivial question--glove box light in Mk2?

There seems to be a decontenting movement afoot at VW Audi. Especially VW. New R32 owners are lamenting about things VW left out of their cars--like an aluminum dead pedal, glove box light, compass on non-nav cars, R32-specific owner's manual, etc. On the '08 GTIs and GLIs, automatic climate control won't be available anymore.
Hope that hasn't happened with Audi and the new TT. I've noticed that the hatch area has only one light (compared to two on the Mk1), and it's covered with a more common trunk-mat type material as opposed to the velour-like material of the Mk1. How are you Mk2 owners feeling about the quality/content of your cars?

I think the quality has gone up, ASF, suspension options, available navi, interior is wonderful (new seats are great), the list goes on and on.
I just don't understand why people compare VW issues (or cars) with Audi. Kind of like "saying my new 2007 mustang doesn't handle as great as my last 2005 mustang, so do you have the same experience with your Jaguar?" Same company vastly different cars.
Just my 2 cents.
