TT 2.0 vs. Golf GTI

Hi,
I'm in Sydney Australia and I've got a 07 2.0T TT.
If you:
- are able to afford it
- don't need to pick up more than 1 person on a regular basis
- don't move much luggage about
get the TT.
The car's great, the only buff i have is that next to my ford territory (work car), it's slightly wider.
However, saying that I now think that if i went with a GTI, I'd probably would of been able to afford to move out and travel around abit.
