All I did was change my RNS-E for a Pioneer F90BT head unit. I'm a true Audio freak and I can tell you that the Bose system that came with my car sounds 200% better after I changed the head unit. I did not changed anything else. Bluetooth with my iPhone works great. The only thing that does not work is the answer button on the wheel but everything else works great. Plus the aftermarket Pioneer unit gives me so much more than the RNS-E ( yes you can read your artist, song names, genre etc ) plus the EQ is amazing. The list that Steve posted of the parts is right on the money. I swear you will be a very happy guy with just changing the head unit. I hope this help. Sorry for taking so long to answer you. Feel free to PM me your email and i'll email you some pics. BTW I'm selling a second new in the box Pioneer F90BT head unit.

Pioneer AVIC's and iPhone
I did something similar and upgraded my head unit in July to a Pioneer AVIC F7010BT. Nice unit but the iPHONE integration sucks. Seems from the AVIC411.com forums that it will NOT read the iPhone 3G contacts. Even tried some of the tricks like switching the countries in phone to Australia to avoid all the extra characters like parenthesis etc, but no luck.
It works great with my iPOD 160GB Classic as far as voice commands but it wont take anything other than you saying the number like "Call 555-1212", but wont recognize any names in the contacts. Basically, I got 75% of what I was expecting from the unit (the sound and IPOD blow away the Bose unit) but Pioneers software and support basically sucks big time (they are TERRIBLE).
Moral of the story...if you want a Pioneer head unit, beware of the iPhone caveat.
