What to get when purchasing a TT

Re: I agree.
Hmmm, Can't say I prefer this one to the old version, but all good! Thanks for the pic and gonna take a look at that guide, I got sent a Canadian one from a dealer, but it doesn't have prices as of yet, great job on the website btw!

Re: I agree.
Thanks... I need to spice it up a bit more. I'm trying to decide if I should make a real site or just continue with fotki with some more stuff added. We'll see.

Re: I agree.
Meteor is a little too green for me. In certain light it looks great but in others...meh. If it called grey, I want grey. It's gotta be Daytona for me. I'm actually surprised Daytona isn't offered on the TTS, maybe the RS.
By the way 353S, thank you for your TTS site. It's a great reference.
Regards,
John

Daytona's a great color ...
it's got lots of metallic flake in it like my Northern Blue S4. I wasn't about to spend another $2500 on a special order color on the TT. But, my guess is that colors like Daytona or Northern Blue will be extra cost on these cars, even the TTS.

Re: I agree.
Green? Maybe... Condor Grey is way too green. Daytona Grey is nice... but I prefer something more light. Avus Grey is too Blue in my opinion.
IMHO Atlas Grey is perfect!... Too bad they don't offer that. Here's a A4 in Atlas:

Just my opinions......
I think magnetic ride on is more stiff than off but it's not a HUGE difference. If you're driving a lot in canyons and auto-x, probably worth it. If you're just doing city driving, I'd leave it off.
Xenon. That was may main choice for option because it's not just stationary but follows as you turn the wheel (not easy to retrofit).
As for color, black is nice but it hides the beautiful lines of the TT. Silver and white are nice but some may feel it's a bit dull. Ocean Blue is a beautiful color and red's sporty and looks good on the TT too. I went with red (got the car today) because my wife's car is blue and I'm tried of silver. Otherwise, I would have really gone with blue.
Other options, the extended leather, or deviating colors are nice but if you're on a budget probably not worth it. Bluetooth is pretty cool option and it's not terribly expensive.
So, all in all, I think a TT with just the premium package would really be fine. But I'd put Xenon and Bluetooth on top of my list.

Not a fan of the S-Line
I think the price premium just isn't worth it. The body kit is very subtle, and I think doesn't look as good as the standard body. The RS4 wheels have been done to death and look better on the RS4, they just look out of place on the TT.
I really like the Nav on Audi, especially coming from the slower, clunkier VW Nav. I like the fact that the OEM is integrated with the dash and audio system, and I've never liked touchscreens very much. Not to mention aftermarket generally don't match very well, or having a pod mounted somewhere on the dash. I just can't believe the (lack of) iPod interface on the Nav system, come on really in 2008 we still can't get a decent interface. I was fully expecting full integration like the BMW system.

Power and Heated seats come with the Premium Package on the 2.0
I've not seen any 2.0 TTs without that package in fact. I just can't believe that Xenons aren't part of that package.
