Default Catalytic converter theft

2018 TT owner here. There have been multiple catalytic converter thefts in my office parking lot. Does anyone know where the catalytic converter is located on the TT? Has anyone installed anti theft alarms? I know that the TT is fairly low to the ground making it harder to access. That said, thieves now bring jacks with them to gain access to low cars.

unfortunately common plague even here.
cat is usually placed very near to the turbo, and so is on the TT, but definitively long time job to remove it even after having cut it, especially on a quattro model (transmission shaft interferes with cat, when needed to remove it).
I guess thieves know their job and prefer focusing into "ordinary" cars, on which the job is much simpler

Just go with catless downpipes and mids ... problem solved, and car sounds A LOT nicer!

You have nothing to worry about. There is no way to cut it out without removing it. They avoid VAG MQB cars like the plague because of this. Here in Montreal we see cat thefts everywhere and no MQB cars ever get touched.

You have nothing to worry about. I have a 2012 Avant, the cat is very inaccessible. Ditto for my 2021 TTRS. If the cars were on a lift that might be a different story.
