MMI Connect App and "Car Finder"
I was looking for my car in a huge parking lot, and thought "I remember this Car Finder thing in the MMI app", so I tried it.
To my dismay, according to the app, my car was allegedly parked back at my home, which was 10 miles away.
Does anyone know how the app is supposed to function?
Does it ping the car for its GPS location?
If I didn't renew the trial AT&T subscription for the car, does this functionality stop?

It's supposed to store the location when you park, but the phone has to be connected to the car's Wifi network at the time, which means you have to have an active Audi connect subscription and enough hotspot data left. It uses the position of your phone and not the car's position, so make sure the app has permission to use the location services on your phone. Otherwise you have to manually save the parking position. I've never used the feature. Apple Maps on my iPhone does a much better job at this. It uses the Bluetooth connection to determine when I park. Basically as soon as the Bluetooth disconnects it knows that the car was parked and it saves the parking position. I never really needed to use it, though. I've yet to forget where I parked my car ;-). Apple Maps also knows when I parked at home in my garage, so it doesn't bother saving the location.

Do you use carplay? I didn't realize the park location feature retired on Bluetooth and since Audi won't let me choose which connection to use, if I want to keep my phone charged during the drive, I have to use a wired connection.

I have a Tile chip in my car, just for the heck of it. Always works.

I was responding to the find it in a parking lot comment (although there is a Tile community feature for extended range).
Otherwise the MMI phone App works pretty well for me.
