Default 2 Separate problems....

So my car is going to hell in a handbasket. 2 weeks ago, I hit a puddle on the hwy and my ABS/Brake light came on, started beeping and flashing. It's been intermittent ever since... sometimes it comes on, sometimes it goes away.

Part No: 8E0 614 111 A
Component: ABS/EDS 5.3 QUATTRO D10
Shop #: BB 24334

1 Fault Found:
01203 - Electrical Connection between ABS and Instrument Cluster
03-10 - No Signal - Intermittent
----------

Then yesterday, I get in the car to drive home, and the Airbag light never shuts off. It blinks occasionally, but that's it.

Component: Airbag Front+Seite 0002

Shop #: WSC 06335

1 Fault Found:
01221 - Crash Sensor Side Airbag; Driver Side (G179)
44-10 - Short Circuit - Intermittent
-----------

Earlier this year, I had water leak in through the hood release cable and flood the passenger side footwell... did it finally kill my airbag controller under the seat? Or are these intermittent failures possibly due to some other loose connection? I just don't know where to start, but I'm suspicious of the codes tripping all at the same time.

ABS Control modules in that vintage B5 are (in)famous for failing.

It is doubtful that you flooded the airbag controller itself. I believe it sits up on the transmission hump. But the side crash sensor and/or it's related wiring, maybe.

Which control module is under the driver's seat?

Didn't realize how old this post was, but..

My A4 recently ran the same exact aribag codes as yours. I also had the same exact issue with water coming in through that little plug and flooding the footwell. What did you come up with?? Any info would be great!!!

Thanks

I fixed the same problem for a friend in his C5-A6. Removed the ABS electronic controller (you do not need to break into the hydraulics) and sent it to BBAREMAN to be rebuilt. Had it back in less than 5 days for $160. Worked fine after that.
