I have a 2009 A3 without a sunroof. I have tried every possible coding for the "open windows from remote" reference. I have the menu option for "Windows" in my DIS and have confirmed that it is checked. The windows do NOT roll down from the driver's side door lock either. I have made some changes to my car (DRL wink etc.) but cannot get the windows to function no matter what I do. Surely this would not be due to NOT having a sunroof? I can post my entire group for 46 but I have confirmed that mine read as they did in another thread. Anyone have any ideas? This is honestly driving me crazy. Using the latest VAG-COM software and genuine Ross Tech cable.

Please check and see if your cluster / MFA has "ATA confirmation". The VW 1K models did and when this is checked, the windows will not operate from the driver’s door key switch.

The VW 1K (2005.5 - 2009, Golf & Jetta) had ATA confirmation as an option on the cluster. When this was set incorrectly, the windows would not work from the key switch in the outside driver's door handle. No faults were stored and coding the 46 module did not fix it.

I was suggesting you check and see if the A3 used anything similar.

You can also check the Measuring Block 003,1,Driver Door, Key Switch. See if the readings change while operating the key in the door.

Yeah I checked in my DIS for any setting that was close, but there is not one. I, in fact, did follow the referring thread to code mine although I was a little confused when it came to byte 3 as there is nothing below the byte, as in no check boxes, no nothing and was unclear what changing that byte would do. I did indeed change it and in fact just made mine identical to the user below:

as mine is the same build date. All to no avail although I cannot understand why the key would not work either from the door. I am afraid to admit that I am not sure how to do your final suggestion. I assume this is something to check from the software itself with the cable? As I am somewhat new to this, is there a reference to this on the wiki somewhere? Thanks for your help so far....

So in measuring the block, it seems to work. Log is below. I guess what concerns me is where it says "Comfort Function Request" not installed. Is it possible that without the sunroof my car is just incapable of this? I would sincerely think that stupid, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what is keeping it from recognizing these functions. Still no window activity from the key in the door, but the block does indicate it is operating and changes from OPEN to CLOSE when the key is turned. Very frustrating for the sake of explanation more than the functionality at this point, but with black leather interior, being able to open the windows via remote would be awfully nice.
