Default 225QTT 16502 - Engine Coolant Temp./16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor cause loss of HP?

225QTT, Chipped Revo w/sps3, forge DV, Neuspeed Catback., BMC CIA, 4 bar FPR, and Modshack Stage II (****).

I have been having problems with my car starting. When I turn the key the car wont start and after 2-3 time it will finally start and I have to give it gas. Then the CEL comes on, then goes away later in the day. So I bought a VAG-COM USB interface from Ross-Tech and these are the DTCs I got:

16502 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62): Signal too High
P0118 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low
P0102 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

So I cleared them to see if they would return and the ECT code keeps returning. So I bought a new ECT sensor (green one) from ECS Tuning and also a new OEM MAF sensor. I hope these will fix my problem. What do you think?

But my MAIN question I had was...Could the Engine Coolant Temp. DTC cause a loss of hoursepower? I have had my car dyno'ed at 3 different dynos (Dynojet, Dynapack, and MAHA) and have been getting only ~150 to 160whp.

Any ideas or suggestions?

This is what I found on the web..."but very strange ECU behavior sent Nathan back to GIAC. A new coolant temperature sender (a $5 part that frequently fails on S4s) exorcised the spooks and raised output from a sickly 135 hp at the wheels to 182 hp and 212 lb-ft. With the mechanical upgrades in place and the stock software on 91 octane, the TT put down 152 hp and 167 lb-ft. With 100-octane unleaded and software to match, Nathan's car delivered 222 hp and 247 lb-ft to the Mustang dyno's rollers." (http://www.europeancarweb.com/tuned/0403ec_audi_tt/)

Default Both of those could cause lack of power.

If the new components don't fix the problem, I would test out the wiring between the sensors and the ECU.
