Alarm issue with allroad. Central locks claims interior monitoring, but no code there!
Hi Folks,
My alarm JUST went off at 12.21 this morning here in otherwise placid Boulder, CO, and here is the result of the scan. This has been happening for a few months now on and off, and I'm somewhat baffled.
Vehicle is an 2001 allroad, essentially the A6 C5, which is what I scan it as.
VAG-COM Version: Release 512.4-D
Saturday,01,July,2006,00:22:44
Chassis Type: 4B - Audi A6 C5
Scan: 01 02 03 06 08 15 16 17 18 34 35 36 37 45 55 56 57 67 75
I STFA and found this post:
https://forums.audiworld.com/vag/msgs/6713.phtml
which is somewhat related but lends no insight.
Here are the two lock-related scans:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 35: Centr. Locks
Part No: 4B0 962 258 J
Component: Central Lock/Alarm D34
Coding: 16200
Shop #: WSC 02389
1 Fault Found:
01370 - Alarm triggered by Interior Monitoring
35-00 - -
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 45: Inter. Monitor
Part No: 4B0 951 178 A
Component: Innenraumueberw. D04
Coding: 00102
Shop #: WSC 02325
No fault code found.
I do happen to get a code in the Engine module that may lend some insight:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 01: Engine
Part No: 4Z7 907 551
Component: 2.7l V6/5VT G 0003
Coding: 06712
Shop #: WSC 02325
WAUYP64B21N112121 AUZ7Z0Y1741796
3 Faults Found:
17831 - Secondary Air Injection System; Bank 1: Insufficient Flow
P1423 - 35-00 - -
17819 - Secondary Air Injection System; Bank 2: Insufficient Flow
P1411 - 35-00 - -
18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low
P1602 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
Readiness: 0000 0000
Any ideas? The lack of a reciprocal code in Interior Monitoring baffles me.
Oh yeah, and since this has been happening, I've been faithful in turning off my ultrasonic sensors. I have also noticed that the problem worsens when the vehicle gets wet, whether from rain or washing.
Right after this initially started occuring, I got a new battery, since the old one was failing. The new battery, however, has been fine (as far as I can tell) since installation.
I just went fishing in Bentley and haven't found anything...
Thanks so much for any assistance,
Bob

I just realized something - the Radio reports an intermittent short to ground.
Could this be causing a slow current drain that actually drains the battery a bit, and then the alarm sounds?
Sorry for not cutting and pasting this module - I had intended to but accidentally deleted the scan. It is late, after all.

I apparently just figured out Bentley.
Seriously, I have searched for this information before. I just figured out that each module has its own DTC code list and explanation.
For code 01370:
Short to Ground
Anti-theft alarm triggered by signal from ultrasonic sensor control module -J347-
Ultrasonic sensor control module -J347- faulty
Short circuit in wiring between ultrasonic sensor control module -J347- and central locking control module
False alarm
Erase DTC Memory => page AUDI-C5-BD04-01-005-1101-176
Perform troubleshooting in line with ultrasonic interior monitor On Board Diagnostic (OBD) => page AUDI-C5-BD04-01-004-0101-112
Use wiring diagram to check wire between ultrasonic sensor control module -J347- and central locking control module and repair if necessary
=> Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Troubleshooting & Component Locations
I guess it's time to hunt down that wire between central locks and interior monitoring?
Ach.
