Can you have 2 OBDII ports in a car?
Hi All,
I have an 02 S4, a carPC, and would love to have my vag-com cable always connected while still having an open OBDII port for when emissions or mechanics need to read data from it.
Is this possible? Does anyone make a Y-cable or splitter for this type of thing? Is it safe to make my own via tapping into the existing wiring for the one port and attaching a second port in parallel?
Clueless as to this aspect. I appreciate the help.
Thanks,

Sure, wire them in parallel. You only need to connect pins 4, 7, and 16.

FYI - it worked great.
just got done doing this, and testing both ports, it worked great.
True test will be next week at emissions to see if they can connect fine while, behind the scenes, the vag-com is connected on the other port.
Thanks again,
