CAN'T SYNCH BAUD RATE ISSUE, HELP PLS...
Hello there, just got my VAG-COM cable and software (311.2) for a 1999 A4 1.8T Quattro.
Use a serial port-COM1 (Windows XP PRO).
Some connections will work, some others (like engine, ABS) will not, says "can't synch baud rate".
Any ideas?,

Ps. My hardware is ok, I've tested it in another pc as well.

If you're using a HEX-series interface
and are getting "Can't Synch Baud Rate" there's something seriously wrong -- like your interface is not being identified properly.
Please go to Options, click TEST and post *exactly* what the resulting dialog says.

changed port settings to "FIFO"=off and everything got solved. My readings are back.
Thank you for your help. Also dunno if this has something to do, but I turned zone alarm off as well.

but if something would not be grounded ..something else than the vag plug would not work ?
i find it strange that the only thing that would not work is the plug.. oh plus i tried it on another s4 ..same thing.

I meant the guy with the HEX interface.
All bets are off with your clone.
As Andy said (since you seem to be local) bring your computer can car to our office and try one of our interfaces.
