Is the central locking module part of the immobilizer ?
Hello everyone, I have a 1996 A6 avant and my central locking module (#4B0 962 258 C), located under drivers floor mat was fried when rain water came over my firewall. The interior lights, alarm, and power locks have not worked since, but the car starts and runs fine.
I am using a vag-com (re607) from ross-tech and it does not find the module at all. I am wondering if I get a new/used control module will it have to be recoded with my SKC. I assume since the car runs that this is not part of the imobilizer
This is my first post and I am also fairly new to the vag-com so I am sorry if my post is less than crystal clear. Thanks for your help.

No, not part of immobilizer
So you can replace it without any worries.
However, I'm 98% sure that module was not diagnostic capable in the C4/4B chassis car, hence even if you get a new one, it likely won't talk to VAG-COM -- or any other scan tool.
