Default Changing the US menu to European on A6?

Is it possible to change the computer menu from american to european e.g. by using a computer dianostics tools? To get liter/(100*km) instead of miles etc, Celsius instead of Fahrenheit, i.e. the whole shabang...

Just moved to Europe and took my A6 2.7T along.

Default Absolutely.

OK, well, this should work...

To change the lighting standard (DRLs etc.), enter module 09 (electrical) and change the software coding. There should be a five digit number, the last digit determining the country:
2 - Netherlands
3 - USA
4 - Canada
5 - Denmark
1 - everyone else

To change the instrument panel (km/mi etc.), enter module 17 (instruments). There should be a five digit software code, with the middle digit determining the country:
1 - EU
2 - USA
3 - Canada
4 - UK
5 - Japan
6 - Saudi Arabia
7 - Australia

As for the climate control and outside temperature display, that's much easier. Just hold down the "recirculation" and left "temp +" buttons for a couple of seconds and it will switch.

Well not quite - there's no module 09 on the A6, so can't do the DRL's

Default yup, however changing the instruments will mess up the date display...

you'll see garbage in the date display field. Although you can turn the date display completely off (read your owner's manual on how to do it). That's the price you have to pay for having everything else displayed in metric units. At least that's how it is on my US-spec '01 A4 which I brought with me to Europe as well.

This change affects only the lighting mode, not the country/market mode.

Default Huh? Yes, you make the change in module 17 (instruments).

But the change I mentioned *only* changes the lighting mode; it does not change the country mode, i.e. km/mi and L/gal/UK gal. That is a separate recoding. I don't remember off the top of my head what the codes are for that one.

Default I was referring to the second part of your post...

All I was saying is that if you decide to change your units in the instrument cluster to metric (km, liters, etc.), your date display will get F'd up.

This is separate from whatever you do for lighting.

Default Of course, the way I look at it is that if you want to change the date display,

your measurement units get f-ed up.
