Default Is this a coilpack failure?
This is on a 2005 B6 S4 4.2L V8

It's also turned on the engine light.




16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0300 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
16685 - Cylinder 1: Misfire Detected
P0301 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent
16689 - Cylinder 5: Misfire Detected
P0305 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent

Well I just swapped them out maybe 2000 miles ago, so I don't know about that

Default so, you've never, ever heard of a spark plug failing?
i obviously wouldn't claim this is the only cause, but it has happened.

Default Move the coils and see if the fault follows them or stays put.
Also check for oil in the plugwells caused by a leaking cam cover seal. Enough oil and your plugs will misfire.
