difference (in software) between vag-com ver. 311.2 & 409.1

Hi,

I'm interested in the software differences between vag-com 311.2 (full version) and the latest 409.1. Reason is, I'm debating whether to spend $30 for older cable and $99 for 311.2 or the $229 for updated cable/software from ross-tech.

Me too! You aren't the only one wondering!

last night our new (to us) 99 A6q Avant gave us an early christmas present - a check engine light! We've only had the car for a week and a half, and I did anticipate purchasing the VAG, but not this soon!

I too have noticed that all the 3rd party cables for sale only support the v311 software...

I just wanted to let you know that you are correct. I bought an eBay cable and could only use 3xx. A real bummer that has caused my $70 savings to pale away.

Oh well, live and learn I guess.
