I've got a 2002 A4 B6 Turbo Quattro and got the following fault codes when running VAG-COM using the Ross-Tech UNI-COM VAG/ISO9141 interface and VAG-COM Version Release 409.1-S:
------
Address 08: Auto HVAC
Controller: 8E0 820 043 AA
Component: A4 Klimaautomat 1219
2 Faults Found:
00604 - Potentiometer Positioning Motor for Air Flow Flap (G113)
30-00 - Open or Short to B+
01794 - Control Module Incorrect Chassis (VIN) Number
35-00 - -
Address 17: Instruments
Controller: 8E0 920 900 H
Component: KOMBI+WEGFAHRS. RB4 D22
Coding: 03700
Shop #: WSC 63351
1 Faults Found:
01300 - Control Module for Navigation with CD-Rom (J401)
49-10 - No Communications - Intermittent
------
I'm not sure how to rectify these issues and how serious they are.
I recently retrofitted a RNS-E Nav unit and completed a double din conversion including fitting a new climate control unit.
Can anyone shed some light on this? I tried a search but couldn't turn up much..
PS when I clear them they re-appear.

Cars that a UNI-COM is not suitable for:
* 2002+ A4's and A6's which have dual K-lines. You won't be able to access anything on the second K--line.
I'm attempting to use a UNI-COM on a 2002 A4..

Doesn't make any difference on the systems you can access.

To fix the "Incorrect VIN" fault, go to Adaptation Channel 081 and put in 26467. This should match it to the car.
I don't have any tips for the air flap motor position sensor other than "check connections".
Instruments: I would clear that and see if/when it comes back.

Thanks again for your help Uwe.
I put in 26467 in to Adaptation Channel 081 and the VIN 'fault' has not reappeared.
In terms of the 00604 fault (Potentiometer Positioning Motor for Air Flow Flap (G113); 30-00 - Open or Short to B+) I spoke to my dealer about this and was told that different markets have slightly different flap setups depending on climate etc. As long as the air can be directed as per the climate control settings, there is no problem.
