Help adapting a new key/remote to a VW Beetle.
I just bought a used one on the internet for my wife's car, and transfered her keyblade to it. She long ago lost the remote half of the key. I "taught" the car the remote with the ignition lock/door lock sequence, and the remote now works fine. However, the key will not start the car, now. I get a key icon on the instrument cluster. I guess this means there is a transponder in the key case that also need to be learned or taught.
Anyone have a quick pointer to how I do this?
Thanks,
Jim

It sounds like you need these instructions:

the key is no longer recognized by the immobilizer in the car. the car must be readapted for the key, this is more complicated needing a enabling pin from vw. you also need to redo all keys at once.
