Default Help with usb retrofit (audi Q3 MIB2+)

Hi
I'm trying to retrofit a usb port with data (mine was charge only)
I Ordered a cable to connect the usb port but the green connector I received has 2 pins not connected and I don't know where to put them (please see the picture attached)

Exactly like this post : https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a4-b9-platform-discussion-212/usb-port-retrofit-3014382/page7/#post25769821 )

I followed this link but I can't figure out where to put these 2 pins.
Could you please help me with this and tell me where to put the 2 pins on the 1st image (of course, i am going to remove the old green connector that you see on the 2nd picture and put the new one) ?

Thanks

That's because those pins don't go to the J794. https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a4-.../#post25911006

As shown in the linked diagram, the brown goes to ground and the red goes to fuse. For a Mk2 Q3 (type F3), the brown goes to ground in the front right footwell and the red goes to fuse 16 in that panel between the steering column and the headlamp switch.

Thanks
I was sure these 2 pins went to MMI because they are attached to J794 file
So i've got to detach them from the J794
I've got to use an adapter because these are pins and they can't fit into the fuse box like this
Am I all good with this?

"because they are attached to J794 file", I don't know what you're trying to say there.

What cable exactly did you buy? If it was made for a retrofit, it should have already had a ring terminal on the brown and a fuse terminal on the red (not sure if that fuse C16 in a F3 is ATO or ATM). I see the wires for the analog audio; is the device you're retrofitting with an AUX port? Isn't there suppose to be a 5V line from the J794 on that same plug?

This is a Mk2 Q3, no? 7th/8th in VIN is F3? Is this MIB2+ Standard (SD slot on the far left side) with 8.8 touchscreen, ie I8E+7Q0 or I8V+7Q0, ... or MIB2+ High (SD slot on the middle right side) with 10.1" touchscreen, ie I8T+7UH or I8T+7UG? What's the p/n on the R293 device you're retrofitting? The only R293 I see for the F3 outside of Japan has no AUX port.

The 2 pins you are asking to put in the fuse box :
First, the pin is not red, it is red/yellow and the other is brown
I meant that they are tied together with the green connector : that's why I thought these 2 pins were supposed to go the back of the MMI

I have MIB2+ High and my car is Q3 F3 and i'm trying to retrofit a USB port with data and charge

And Yes the VIN contains F3
I'm putting in attachment all my wiring

I have trouble transposing from the wiring diagrams to the situation I have to obtain in my wiring...
Still I think these 2 pins should go behind the MMI, what do you think ?

red, red/yellow, you know which wire I'm talking about. And no, the wiring of the data enabled R293 does not have power or ground going to the J794, as shown in my slides. And no, the ground wire would not go to the fuse box, and I never said it should.

MIB2+ High, ok, so we know which specific wiring diagram section to look at in the F3 wiring diagrams. But you didn't provide the p/n of the device you're replacing in the center console, or wherever the USB port is in a Q3. The charge only device does not support data; it does not have the HSD jack. What device are you replacing it with? p/n on the label on it.

P/n is : 83A035736
I'm attaching photo of the part and wires
I hope this helps

So if I search on that device and come to pictures such as here, https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805237688759.html , what we see is the important factor, that it's a 6-pin connector, and it has no AUX port. As such, we know they are bundling a generic all-applications cable, not the actual cable that would be used in a Q3.

The 83A 035 736 to I8T MIB2+ High wiring has only three wires to it, and then the HSD cable (which is what carries all the USB data to the J794).

1 - red/violet to 12v fuse "C16" (if yours is red/yellow, it doesn't really matter, so long as it's the wire on pin 1 of the 6-pin to the USB device)
2 - brown to chassis ground
3 - to J794 12-pin green pin 3 (this is 5V for the USB charging port, but the USB data hub uses it simply as a remote turn-on signal, as the device is otherwise powered directly by the battery)

The 12-pin green has only 2 pins used in a F3 vehicle. 3 is 5V and 4 is ground for the USB charge only port. 3 is 5V and that's the only pin used for the USB data devices. From what I see in the wiring diagrams. All the wires on 1/2/7/8 for AUX is irrelevant for that installation.
