I got my VAG-Com a bit ago and still haven't been able to use it - can anyone help?

I got my VAG-Com a bit ago and still haven't been able to use it - can anyone help?
I go to options then test, it says:
Com Port Status: OK
Adaptor Status: Unknown Device
How do I remedy this? Thanks!

The COM port you've selected has a modem on it.
You need to select a different one. Look in Device Manager, under Ports (COM & LPT) to see what it really is. If you're running any kind of PDA hot-synch program, disable it, they have the nasty habbit of hogging the COM ports.
