The text is something like "Contr.Unit Programming, Programming not Finished"
Has anyone actually got to the bottom of what this means, and how to remedy it?

Code: 18089
Text: Contr. Unit Programming Programming not Finished
Corrective Action: Replace ECM
Did you recently chip your car or do anything pertiaining to the ECU? I would try clearing the codes first, then see if it comes back. If it does then maybe try reseating your ECU and determine if that fixes the issue.

and came back immediately after start-up. I haven't noticed any change in driveability.
Just to clarify... did you mean to say resetting or reseating. If the later, do you suggest that the chip could be loose or the soldering faulty?
Thanks

Then again it could be a faulty solder as well but at least you can eliminate one of the possibilities by simply reseating. Do you have access to a stock ECU? You may want to try swapping out your GIAC for a stocker just to verify the code is still being thrown in case reseating does not rectify your problem; process of elimination. Good luck.
