Default Instrument adaptation. need help

Instrument Adaptation channel 35 is for Speed Threshold.

What is it for? On some cars we can change the value from 0 to 7. zero being standard. But on some it is an increment of 250, 500, 750 & 1000.

The pop up details says "the speed threshold for the dynamic oil pressure system. The threshold can be raised in increments of 250 RPM."

What does instrument have anything to do with oil pressure?
What is this channel use for? Any harm in changing them?

Default

The instrument cluster has the low oil pressure warning system. On most cars, this consists of two switches, one low pressure switch that's monitored at at idle and low RPMs and one higher pressure switch that's monitored at higher RPMs. This channel influences the RPM at which the the instrument cluster pays attention to which switch.
