Instrument Cluster replacement problem
I tried to replace the instrument cluster on my brother's 2000 A6 2.7T because the multi function red display in the center of the cluster was no longer readable.
After following the steps posted on Ross-Tech the new cluster has a fault code 1314 ECM 49-00 No communication and the Tachometer do not read.
I put the old cluster back this problem do not exist
The original cluster had a soft code of 02264 which I stored in the new cluster (original softcode 03283) using VAG-COM.
Any body knowes whats wrong ? Thanks!

Replacement cluster new or used?
Have a look at adaptation channels 60-62 in the old cluster. Record the value in each channel, then put those same values in the replacement.
If that doesn't fix it, my guess is the replacement cluster is NFG.

Re: well, at least you answered half of my question
The replacement cluster is an remanufactured exhcange from an audi dealership, labeled on the back remanufactured in Germany by VDO, I checked ETKA it is the correct part number for the CAR.
Thanks.
Thanks.
