Default Need assitance silencing seat belt chime on engine start

I have a 2005 B6 S4. I just used the Vag-Com to deactivate the seat belt chime and enable windows with the key fob. Great stuff!

One concern: When I switch the ignition on and the seat belt is unfastened I get 6 chimes. The chimes do not sound if the seat belt is fastened. For me, the benefit was to start the car and then fasten my seat belt without hearing that terrible chime. Any comments or suggestions on silencing this seat belt chime once and for all?

Default Got your current instrument cluster coding? A current version of VAG-COM would...

...give you details (in this case a coding chart) for that module when using the coding function.

Default Just received my new VAG-COM last week -

I see a coding chart, but not all of the options and descriptions I found on this forum (with repect to coutry code, etc...).

From my memory, the original coding was 01231. I followed suggestions for disabling the seat belt warning and ended up with 01229. While this disabled the repetitive cycle of 6 chimes every 30 seconds (or minute), it did not disable the chime on ignition/engine start.

Yesterday, I changed the coding from USA to UK and entered "0" for the seat belt chime as I found on this forum. It is now something like 01403 (but don't hold me to that). Now, the door chime does not sound at all, but I STILL get 6 chimes when I start up.

Based on your original coding, the right new coding would be 01201.

Default Thanks - Just tried it but I had the same results...

...six chimes on start.

I'm starting to think that the only way to silence the chime is to find a way to mechanically bypass the seatbelt switch.
