Default P1857 and others after generator failure

Posted in the B5 forum thought this might be a better place.

My S4 just blew its second generator in 8 months, resulting in a dead then a disconnected battery. After replacing the generator, my 2001 S4 is throwing countless error codes, will not maintain a smooth idle, cuts power while underway, is basically undrivable.

I went back and checked my work, did not see anything loose or obviously wrong. After clearing codes, some come back immediately, others will come back in a minute or two. The codes that come back are somewhat randomized, but the M0103 and P1857 are consistent. I was concerned about battery because it was seriously drained after the failure, but battery voltage is w/in acceptable range (about 13 v), generator is putting out appropriate voltage (13-14v). MAF is providing consistent readings despite error code. Because of the variety of errors, am afraid it could be something major.

Attached, VAG output. Hoping someone has a recommendation or I may be forced to visit the stealership or take a flyer on a new ECU, MAF, etc.

I know you already checked your work, but replacing the alternator on a 2.8L B5.5 Passat is a task. In this case, with the 2.7T, was removing the front end necessary? I would imagine it was, and the Charge Pressure Control problem could be related to an intercooler (boost) leak.
