Passenger Mirror No Longer Tilting Down
Recently, the passenger mirror on my S6 stopped deflecting downwards (to show the curb) when I go into reverse. I just purchased a VAG-COM HEX+CAN and want to fix this issue. I would appreciate any assistance.

Nothing really obvious there that would explain why the mirror isn't tilting.
You might want to go through and clear fault codes from each module that has 'em, as well as 02, 46, and the door control modules to see if that does anything.

I just played with a 2005 A6 which has almost identical body systems. The mirror only dips if the mirror adjustment **** is set to the position where it is possible to adjust the passenger-side mirror. The mirror will not dip if the adjustment **** is in any other position. So the question is, do you have the adjustment **** in that position?

My '01 A6 is exactly this way -- the mirror control joystick must be in the "right" position for the reverse dip to work. If it is in "left" or "none" the dip is turned off.
Took me a while to figure that out when I first got it -- I thought it just had a mind of it's own ":^)

The mirror adjustment switch has always been in the proper position for the mirror to tilt downward when I engage reverse. Still a no go.

Well, I took my car to the dealership today to have service done. They had three techs trying to figure out why the mirror no longer would tilt down when the car is engaged in reverse and the mirror adjustment **** was turned to the appropriate mirror. The solution was simple: the mirror tilts down when engaged in reverse IF you set the mirror to that position using your seat memory feature. In other words, while in Park, set the seat to your liking, hit "SET" and either 1 or 2. Then, move the mirror **** to the passenger side mirror, engage the car in reverse, adjust the mirror to where you want it to move (down for me so that I can see the curb) when you engage in reverse, then hit the "SET" button once more and the same number 1 or 2 that you used for your seat settings.
