Well, its actually a B5 (1998) Passat actually. I know! But it has the heart transplanted from my 1998 A4 1.8T including ECU.

I was trying to fix the door lock on driver side ('spinning cylinder'), swapped passenger side lock over.
Door cards and regulator out.

Somewhere in the middle, I noticed the passenger side door lock and the TRUNK (nothing done there) did not close (meaning the lock does not snap in; door always stays open).

Thought it may have to do with the door switches unplugged, etc.

Put everything back together. Same thing.

Also noticed that the door LED is blinking like crazy, and a relay under the fuse box is clicking like mad.

Did not want to burn anything out, so found that pulling fuse 39 disables the power locks and stops the clicking and blinking.

Now close to finishing up, but can't get the passenger door lock to snap close, nor the trunk.
And the clicking and blinking continues.

Disconnected battery for 10 min. Nothing.

Plugged in VAGcom. With fuse in, cannot connect to ANY module.
"Not plugged into car", "interface not ready" (even after running options, etc.).

With the fuse 39 out, I can read some modules (scan below).

Before messing with the locks and door card, everything was working, including remote control.

Car starts and runs, no engine codes.

What is going on here?
