Q7 Trans coding getting Error 7F
Trying to enable the gear indicator in center cluster (DIS?).
In VCDS - Auto Trans. I go to Coding and then to Long Coding. Byte 2 comes by default with the Gear Indicator Suppressed (checked).
I uncheck it which changes coding from 001378 to 001178. That's good.
I exit and "Do It" and it gives me a warning asking me a secondary question: Yes - do it with standard sec code (12345, 123, etc)
No - manually enter (I tried 12151 for my manual code which was used elsewhere on this vehicle)
Cancel - back to nothing.
If I choose Yes or NO, both fail with a 7F error. It won't take the recode.
Additionally, my current trans code of 001378 really for a Touareg (10) which is in bit 4-7. My Code for a Touareg should be 00 which would net me a current code of 000378. Trying to "Do It" fails as well with a 7F error.
