Question on codes 16502 and 16706

Question on codes 16502 and 16706
Problem with A4 B6 1.8 last few days where engine "shuts off" (while driving) for just a couple of seconds then restarts no problem. Codes pulled were 16502 Eng coolant temp sensor (I believe a common problem) and 16706 Eng speed sensor, but when I go to ebahn to check what to do the 16706 code takes me to Engine Collant Tempurature Sensor Checking. What gives? Is my ECT sensor shot? What about the speed sensor, which seems appropriate to cause the shutting off problem? Thanks!!!
