Default Tranny recode 00032 not working...

Just got my Ross-Tech VAG-COM, so went to recode my tip with 00032 based on all the great things I've heard.

I entered in new code and checked that it was there.

Test drive did not allow steering wheel radio buttons to be used for tip shifting. Tranny seemed to be working as before the recode. After test drive I verified that code 00032 was still present which it was.

Any suggestions.

Default you still need to move the shifter into tip mode. 00032 should get you

no auto-shift from 1 to 2. stock, it will automatically shift a little after 2000rpm unless you give it 3/4 throttle or more. with this recode, it will stay in first no matter what until redline.

that said, just did that recode for someone a week ago and they didn't see the behavior...they still needed to give healthy throttle in order to keep first (his and my cars are S4's).

EDIT above: I see that some A6's should have what you mention. Not sure what issue could be.

To enable "Tip in D", try coding 0001032.

FYI - does not work on S4, but perhaps does on others?

Default The bit coding for the 4th from the right is documented as "Tip steering wheel paddles...

present" or not. The functional activation depends on the firmware version of the TCU, and or thr PN.

Default great info. wondering if it was euro only since all US were buttons not paddles?

or did some 2000-2002 models come with paddles already?

Default I have heard the '02 A4 had paddles, .....

Others have had success activating "Tip in D" with the multifunction SW and paddles only steering wheels, by recoding the TCU and or Steering Column Control Module, on B6 A4 3.0l tips, and on A6 tips.

Default Re: EDIT above: I see that some A6's should have what you mention. Not sure what issue could be.

Question: I just retrofitted an MSFW with Tip buttons on my 03 allroad (along with MFSW controller 618) - the controller is coded for Tip Buttons but they are not working

My tranny code is 01002

Do I need to change it to 01032 for the tip buttons to work?

Default based on diagnosticator's post, I'd say yes.

it'll either accept it enable that function, accept it and not enable that funtion, or not accept it (speaking in general for vag-com). don't worry about blowing anything up is what i'm trying to say; give it a shot.
