I bought a Vag cable for one purpose. To change a concert HU from Bose to Normal. I had a delta and I replaced it with a concert so I could use a blitzsafe adapter with a Ipod.
I am having difficulty getting a radio connection. The vag just won't see it. I have unpluged the radio back to safe mode and unlocked to no avail. The diag screen I have read about has never shown up. Does the 97 a4 have the "connectivity" to program a concert? Is the so called K-line a factor. I'm a little confused.
Otherwise I have enjoyed doing butt dyno's.

Why? Because the original radio in that (the Delta) isn't diagnostics capable! In order to allow VAG-COM to commuincate with any radio in that car, you're going to need to run the K-line from pin 7 of the OBD-II connector to the appropriate pin of the radio harness. That pin is shown on the bottom of this page:

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/aftermarket-radio.html</a
