Hi,
I am looking for testimonials about your experience of upgrading from the $99 Lite version to the dongle. I have an 98 A4 Quattro 1.8 and have had limited success using a 3rd party cable with the shareware. Can I reasonably expect consistently good connections with the engine controller if I purchase the Ross-Tech K-II interface? I am not trying to deny them of their rightfully earned fees, I am just trying to decide how involved I want to become in car repair.
Thanks,
Hal

If you buy an interface from us, it's guaranteed to work, and if you have any troubles, you can call us and we'll help you with it in real-time.
VCDS-Lite should also work fine on that car, however, since we didn't make or sell whatever interface you're using with it, it's difficult to impossible for us to trouble-shoot. If it's a USB interface, check what chipset it's based on. If it's from FTDI, download the latest drivers from them, and then make sure you have the latency timer set to 2 as shown in this screenshot. If your interface uses some other chipset, all I can tell you is talk to whomever sold it to you.
