Default VCDS lite ABS system

I have a 2000 Audi A4 2.8L with esp. Changed the rear calipers and now I have a super squishy pedal. I bought a cheap dongle and registered my VCDS lite just t bleed this god damn car. Everything I put the 002 in basic settings it just gives me an error. My ABS pump will not turn on. I know I should have bought the VCDS system but I was being cheap and definitely didn't feel like Audi charging me an insane amount just to turn my ABS pump on and have tech stand there for about 20 minutes with a motive bleeder I already have... I want to know if there are any specific setting I need to adjust in the options menu of VCDS to get it to work properly. It reads every other function just fine. But it Will not let me access my damn pump. 3 weeks now I have been tryign to solve this issue any help would be great.

You can't put anything in Basic Settings. It either does something or it doesn't.

Does the repair manual actually suggest Basic Settings as a method of bleeding your particular ABS system?

Furthermore I'm baffled by your statement that you have a "2000 Audi A4 2.8L with esp." I'm pretty sure that ESP didn't arrive in the A4 until at least 2001, so please post up an Auto-Scan so that we can see exactly what you've got.

No fault code found.

I am following everyone's instructions, or at least trying to when it comes to bleeding the brakes on this car. I was told the 5.3 system was indeed the ESP equipped brake system. I am also pretty damn sure I the ESP light come on when I first go the car

Says to do the same thing on the Ross Tech website.

I am also using a real VAG COM cable now from Ross tech and I still only get problems.
