Where is J533 ("Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface") ?

Probably an obvious one, but can't find any reference to where this actually is. I'm trying (as per Bentley) to hunt down data bus issues.

It states: "Disconnect the Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface J533 electrical harness connector"

Nowhere in Bentley does it say where exactly this is.

Anyone know?

thanks..but pretty sure that's not it. it seems everything else plugs into it.

on some models apparently integrated with instrument cluster (maybe VW).

J533 is the CAN Gateway, integrated into the Instrument Cluster.

one more follow up question please...how do I disconnect it?

Bentley, in "CAN-Bus Terminal Resistance, Checking" topic states as the first step, "Disconnect the Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface J533 eletrical harness connector".

If this is integrated into instrument cluster, do I disconnect all 3 connections from the cluster? Or which one?

Just to make sure: this is for 2002 B5 S4, 2.7l biturbo.

fer f#$s sake...i believe i was reading the 2.8L AHA, ATQ engine code instructions...

not APB which mine is. i'm starting not to like Bentley's auto 'scrolling' on search results where the top title is not shown by default (which contains details of applicable engine). sigh. i'm starting to lose my mind; time for a nap.

Data Bus

Bit of back history... I got the car with a non working MMI. But I just wanted the car. Being V8 and all as I really like Aud V8s.
So I am trying to trouble shoot the MOST bus.
got new board for 380 replaced it and still only get splash screen for 2 seconds. Oh well not that..
The Bose unit I found to be rusty so I am guessing that is inop. But to start I just want the screen working and the be able to access car menus to begin with like resetting TPMS since getting tires done.
Here is a video I found showing the Gateway module or as I think thats what it is.
but on USA model is it on the other side? As in the manual I have states driver side.. which driver?
