Hi all. My name is Dan, and I just joined this group. I recently bought a half DKW/half Messerschmitt hybrid on eBay. I am sure some of you saw it for sale. I am documenting its resurection at www.frankenschmitt.com. I have joined the DKW club, but I sure could use some guidance on where to find manuals and parts for the drivetrain. Thanks!

Steve Sears here from the DKW Club - welcome to Audiworld! As far as folks with manuals go, chances are you'd be luckier with the folks on the Yahoo group than here - I'd help you out but I only have Junior stuff.

That is a 3=6/1000 radiator with a hose outlet brazed on. You can see where the original connection was brazed shut to the left of the broken connection.

The "pipe" is a housing for the driveshaft for the original fan (image from www.dyna.co.za/cars/specs.html):

It looks like you have an engine from a DKW 3=6 (see video link below). As for the lower pipe which looks like it's wrapped in asbestos - I got a couple NOS from Matt at Vintage Imports Inc. (user name europarts4auction on eBay) - the Junior lower hoses look to be shorter than the 3=6/1000 hoses, though. Since you're not really getting the car ready for Pebble Beach (or are you?) you might consider just getting an industrial radiator hose that fits.
Cheers!<ul><li><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lfnip_3nCPA">Fast forward to 2:00 to see the engine running</a></li></ul>
